Two Roads
Two roads are clearly offered to each of us in life. One is the road of the self-life that seeks after intellectual entertainment and wins the applause of men, but ends in corruption, failure, and defeat. The other road leads a man by the way of the cross, the path of unpopularity, making him a spectacle to the world, often criticized, even persecuted, certainly thought out-of-date and old-fashioned. That is the road Paul chose. Which road are you and I traveling today?
Always remember this, "Until you have received the gift of His Spirit of service, you have nothing to offer which can be a help or a blessing to anyone.
Empty
What shall I bring before the throne of God?
With what shall I stand?
Could it be I am so emptied
There will be nothing in my hand?
I could say I've done it all,
That I've lived a life that's good.
I could say I've worked so hard
To do all He thinks I should.
But,
the truth is ... I am emptied,
yet in that emptiness, I am set free
For Christ is He who emptied me
As He died on the cross at Calvary.
Praise God!
I shall stand before the throne
In a covering of radiant white
With nothing in my hand ... nothing on my lips
And nothing to prevent the glorious sight ...
of my Saviour.
